Newark Courier Works With The Red Arrows
Dave Sharp of MDS Courier Service, has just successfuly completed a week long experiment working along side the Royal Airforce Aerobatic Team the Red Arrows, during their redeployment exercise Operation Bolthole.
Due to be relocated in the near future the Red Arrows were looking for ways of quickly transfering video tapes of their training flights from the practice site to the proposed debrief site. The team manager contacted MDS Courier Services and on the 19th January Dave commenced working with the team delivering the tapes at the end of each training flight.
Time limits were tight as the video tapes were needed to be available for viewing at each debriefing session, allowing pilots to asses each display manoeuvre. The Red Arrows flew up to six sorties a day in all types of weather and Dave successfully negotiated traffic and hazards to delivered all the tapes on time. "The service proved so successful that I was also able to move essential spare parts for some of the technicians, saving valuable down time on the aircraft." said Dave. "They treated me very well and I enjoyed my time working with them".
